DivorceAudit.com (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you visit our website at divorceaudit.com.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide
When you complete our contact form, we collect the name and email address you provide. We use this information solely to respond to your inquiry. We do not add you to any mailing list without your explicit consent.
Checklist Results Requests
When you request a copy of your Financial Disclosure Completeness Checklist results, we process the email address you provide and the checklist information needed to generate the personalised email you request. We use Brevo as our email service provider to process and send that transactional email. We do not add checklist requesters to a marketing mailing list through this form, and we do not add checklist answers or financial details to a Brevo contact profile for marketing purposes.
Email Updates
You can optionally sign up to receive occasional email updates from DivorceAudit about financial disclosure in divorce. Signing up is entirely voluntary. If you choose not to sign up, it does not affect your use of the site or access to any content.
When you sign up, we collect the email address you provide and use it to send you occasional emails such as new articles, guides, or other educational content related to financial disclosure in divorce. We do not send promotional emails on behalf of third parties or share your email address with advertisers.
We use Brevo as our email service provider to manage subscriber lists and send these emails. When you sign up, a contact record is created in Brevo containing your email address and the following consent information: the sign-up source, the date and time you signed up, a consent-version identifier, and, where available, the relevant DivorceAudit page context. This record is used to demonstrate that you opted in and to manage your subscription. It is not used for profiling, scoring, or automated decision-making.
You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link included in every email we send. After you unsubscribe, we stop sending you email updates. Brevo may retain a record that you unsubscribed, to ensure we do not email you again.
The email updates sign-up is completely separate from the Financial Disclosure Completeness Checklist results request described above. Signing up for email updates does not add you to the checklist mailing list, and requesting checklist results does not sign you up for email updates.
DivorceAudit email updates contain educational content only. They do not contain legal, financial, or professional advice, and nothing in them should be treated as a substitute for advice from a qualified professional.
Information Collected Automatically
When you visit DivorceAudit.com, certain information is collected automatically, including your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, and pages visited. This information is collected through standard server logs and analytics tools and is used to understand how visitors use our site and to improve our content.
Cookies
DivorceAudit.com uses cookies (small text files stored on your device) to improve your browsing experience and to help us understand how the site is used. Cookies may be set by our website directly or by third-party services we use, such as Google Analytics.
You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling cookies may affect the functionality of some parts of this site.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to inquiries submitted through our contact form
- Send occasional email updates to subscribers who have opted in
- Analyze site traffic and improve our content
- Monitor site performance and security
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
Third-Party Services
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to track and analyze website traffic. Google Analytics collects information such as how often users visit the site, what pages they visit, and what other sites they used prior to visiting. We use this information to improve our site. Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics is governed by the Google Analytics Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy.
Display Advertising
DivorceAudit.com may in the future display advertisements served by Google or other third-party advertising networks. If and when display advertising is active on this site, those vendors may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time by visiting the Google Ads Settings page or by visiting AboutAds.info.
Affiliate Links
Some links on this site are affiliate links. When you click an affiliate link, the company you visit may set cookies on your device to track referrals. Please refer to our Affiliate Disclosure for full details.
Form Protection and Anti-Abuse Controls
We use anti-abuse controls to protect our forms from automated submissions and spam.
Our Financial Disclosure Completeness Checklist form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile. Turnstile processes technical signals, such as IP address, TLS fingerprint, user-agent information, site key, and associated origin, to distinguish people from automated traffic. Cloudflare describes its handling of these signals in its Turnstile Privacy Addendum and Privacy Policy.
Our email updates sign-up form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA. reCAPTCHA processes technical signals to distinguish people from automated traffic. Google describes its handling of these signals in its Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Both forms also use a duplicate-submission control. To prevent repeated submissions from the same address within a short period, we temporarily process a pseudonymous identifier derived from the email address you provide using a one-way keyed hash. We do not store the raw email address in this control. The identifier expires automatically (within 24 hours for the checklist form, within one hour for the email updates form) and is used only to prevent automated abuse and protect our email service from misuse. It is not used for marketing, analytics, or profiling.
Data Retention
Contact form submissions are retained only as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry. Email updates subscriber records are retained in Brevo while you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, Brevo marks your contact record as unsubscribed so that we do not send you further email updates. We may retain a minimal record of that opt-out for this purpose. Analytics data is retained in accordance with Google Analytics’ standard data retention settings.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, or request deletion of personal information we hold about you.
California Residents: If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion of your personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, please contact us using the details below.
To exercise any of your rights, please contact us via our Contact page or by email at hello@divorceaudit.com.
